The Kirup Camino is an annual 16km pilgrimage from the Church of St Therese in Balingup, to the Holy Family Church in Kirup, Western Australia.
It is held to launch World Mission Month in the Catholic Diocese of Bunbury and to celebrate the feast day of St Therese of Lisieux, patron saint of Missions. Following in the tradition of pilgrim paths around the world, like the Spanish Camino de Santiago, participants will receive a ‘credencial’ (pilgrim passport/booklet to certify you are making the pilgrimage) to be stamped along the way.
The Kirup Camino will start at the Church of St Therese, Balingup, with a blessing at 8.30am, and will end with a Pilgrims’ Mass, at 3pm at the Holy Family Church, Capel Street in Kirup, with the Bishop of Bunbury George Kolodziej SDS.
Tea, coffee and water will be available at Mullalyup (the mid-way point) – bring your own morning tea or lunch, snacks and water bottle.
Parking is available at Kirup, and a pre-booked shuttle bus departs Kirup at 8am for Balingup to start the Kirup Camino at 8.30am sharp.
The cost to register for this event is $20. Participants are also invited to make a donation towards the 2026 Catholic Mission Parish Appeal, which will be launched at the Pilgrim’s Mass. All profits raised will go towards mission projects in Malawi, and other Church-run programs supporting children, families and communities in need around the world. Numbers for the Kirup Camino are strictly limited – tickets will be available online in mid-2026.
