This is a guided retreat which seeks to deepen participants’ awareness of their God-seeded identity as human beings and their appreciation of God’s Self-Revealing in the experiences of their lives. There will be a focus on living humanity as Jesus did. Sessions will be varied, with group and personal prayer, reflective input using imagery and music. Sessions will show the influence of ecological spirituality on contemporary approaches to Christian life.
About the facilitator:
Virginia Bourke is a Sister of Saint Joseph. Early in her religious life she experienced inter cultural theological study at the East Asian Pastoral Institute with the Jesuits in the Philippines. After years of teaching and leading in Catholic schools, she studied theology formally with the Catholic Institute of Sydney. Since 1995 she has been engaged in adult faith enrichment, in various teacher education programs in NSW and in Josephite rural women’s support projects in NSW and SA. Virginia is a Sacramental theologian with a commitment to exploring God’s Self-Revealing in human experience. She studied more recently in the Ignatian ecological spirituality program with the Jesuits in Guelph, Canada. She currently lives and ministers in North Sydney
