We are an addictive society. We tend to think only of drugs or alcohol or sex addictions, but there are actually many more, including to be addicted to our own way of thinking. There is a need for our society, starting with individuals in it, to become alert and aware of our biases – there are at least 15- and to our addictions.
Developed by laymen, 12 Step Spirituality is a powerful method of confronting our failings, bringing healing to both spirit and body. It is worth exploring over the 3 weeks of the course.
Br Barry has studied and taught in Australia, Africa, USA, Asia and the Pacific Islands. He has completed primary degrees in arts and teaching and graduate studies in education, adult religious education, theology and group dynamics, and holds a doctor of ministry degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary in spiritual formation. He is the emeritus executive director of Spirituality Centers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and in Terre Haute, Indiana.
He is also a certified spiritual director and a Labyrinth presenter.
