Mission in Operations: Aligning Organisational Practices with Mission

In today’s complex and pluralist environment, Catholic organisations are called to consider how mission is lived not only through programs and pastoral work, but through the everyday decisions, policies and practices that shape organisational life.

This workshop brings together leaders from across Catholic education, social services and the for-purpose sector to explore how Catholic Social Teaching can be embedded across core operations — including governance, procurement, investment and inclusion — ensuring mission is lived with integrity, accountability and purpose.

What to expect:

Join us for an engaging afternoon featuring speakers from St Vincent’s Health Australia, Jesuit Social Services and Mercy Education, who will share practical insights and real-world examples of values-led decision-making in action.

Together, we will explore:

• the importance of a whole-of-organisation approcah to mission
• navigating complexity of aligning business practices with organisational values
• practical approaches to embedding mission in operation, including in the areas of ecological justice, ethical procurement, values-aligned investment and inclusion

This is more than a workshop; it is an opportunity to reflect together, share experience and strengthen how mission is expressed in everyday organisational practice.
