The Eucharist and Morality

Presented by Rev Dr Paschal M. Corby OFM Conv

In his Apostolic Exhortation Sacramentum Caritatis (2007), Benedict XVI spoke of the centrality of the Eucharistic sacrifice as a mystery to be believed, to be celebrated, and to be lived. This series on ‘The Eucharist and Morality’ will focus on the latter, considering how our sharing in the Eucharistic mystery becomes the source for a life lived in imitation of and communion with Christ. Since Christ has promised that ‘He who eats me will live because of me’ (Jn 6:57), “the mystery believed and celebrated contains an innate power making it the principle of new life within us and the form of our Christian existence” (Sacramentum Caritatis, n. 70).
