Walk in the footsteps of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop on a sacred 12-day journey through the places that shaped her life, faith and mission — and be inspired to see how it might impact you today.

Beginning in Melbourne and concluding at Mary MacKillop Place in North Sydney, this deeply Australian pilgrimage brings her remarkable story to life. Visit the churches where her faith was formed, the communities where she served, and the historic sites where the Josephite mission began. Through daily opportunities for prayer, Mass and reflection, discover the courage, compassion and unwavering trust in God that inspired Mary to dedicate her life to those most in need.

Itinerary: Melbourne (3 nights) • Portland (1) • Penola (2) • Adelaide (2) • Sydney (3)

  • Visit Mary MacKillop’s birthplace and Heritage Centre in Melbourne
  • Pray at St Francis’ Church, where Mary received the Sacraments
  • Discover Mary’s early life and ministry in Portland
  • Explore the Woods MacKillop Schoolhouse and Stable Park in Penola
  • Encounter the spectacular Blue Lake, The Coorong and the Pink Lakes
  • Visit the former Josephite Mother House in Adelaide
  • Stay at Mary MacKillop Place in North Sydney

Fully escorted by Sr Anne Bond rsj and Mr Garry McLean, and presented in collaboration with the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart, this is a special opportunity to encounter the enduring spirit of Australia’s first saint.
