SYNODALITY: A NEW PATH FOR THE CHURCH?

Austen Ivereigh is a UK-based writer, journalist and commentator best known for his books on and with Pope Francis, and for his role in the media explaining the convictions of the Catholic Church. He is Fellow in Contemporary Church History at Campion Hall, Oxford and a regular contributor to The Tablet, America magazine and Commonweal, among others. Inspired by Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Sì, he practises regenerative horticulture on his farm.
Anna Rowlands is a British theologian and academic, specialising in Catholic social teaching and contemporary Catholic theology. She is the St Hilda Professor of Catholic Social Thought and Practice at Durham University, and a member of the University’s Centre for Catholic Studies. She brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to discussion of synodality. In 2023 she was seconded to the Holy See to assist with the Synod on Synodality. She was appointed to two Vatican Dicasteries to support the core research work that speaks on matters of politics, economics, climate and migration.
