Introduction to the Eucharist

Presented by Rev Dr Paschal M. Corby OFM Conv

The Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life” (Lumen gentium, n. 11). It is the greatest act of our worship and the fount from which our life in Christ flows. In this introductory lecture we will consider the foundations of the Christian faith in the gift of the Eucharist, touching on the various themes (Sacred Scripture, Dogma, History, Morality, Evangelisation, Liturgy and Devotion) that will be unpacked in the rest of the course, and how they relate to this central mystery of our faith.

Presenter: Fr Paschal is a priest of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual. He is resident at Mount St Francis Friary, Kellyville, where he serves as Director of the Franciscan Shrine of the Holy Innocents. He lectures in Moral Theology/Bioethics at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney.
