Edward Phillip “Ted” Kennedy OAM (27 January 1931 – 17 May 2005) was an Australian priest and activist. He was best known as the parish priest of St Vincent’s Roman Catholic church in the Sydney inner-city suburb of Redfern, where he commenced his ministry in 1971. The Redfern Catholic presbytery under Kennedy was an open house for the many Indigenous members of his parish and beyond.

Danny Gilbert has also held various non-executive positions, including Co-Chair and Director of Australians for Indigenous Constitutional Recognition Ltd, Non-Executive Director of National Australia Bank Limited 2004-2016, Chairman National Museum of Australia 2009-2015, Chairman Western Sydney University Foundation 2012-2019, Chairman Australian Film Television and Radio School, Chairman Law and Justice Foundation of NSW and Chairman Public Interest Advocacy Centre.
In June 2005, Danny was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to the law and to the community, particularly Indigenous Australians. The University of NSW and Western Sydney University both awarded Danny honorary Doctor of Laws degrees.

Sunday afternoons at 2.00pm (unless otherwise stated) in the Crypt of St Patrick’s at Church Hill [Grosvenor Street], The Rocks. Members and non-members are welcome to join us in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Attendance is free but a gold coin donation for afternoon tea is welcome.
