In collaboration with the Diocesan Office for Migrant Chaplaincies, the Nigerian and Ghanaian chaplaincies are working with the broader network of African Catholic communities in the Diocese of Parramatta to host the African Mass 2026. The African Catholic communities in the Dioceses of Parramatta, Broken Bay, and the Archdiocese of Sydney combined would like to invite you to be the main celebrant for the African Mass 2026 detailed below: Date: Sunday 27 September 2026 Time: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Venue: Mary Queen of the Family Parish (St Patrick’s Church), 51-59 Allawah Street, Blacktown Refreshments and entertainment will be provided after Mass. The African Mass was initiated by African Catholics in 2017 with the intent to bring together African communities from different cultural backgrounds to worship. With the growing rate of African Migrants in the Diocese of Parramatta, we have now resolved to hold the African Mass with an initial objective of bringing African Catholics and friends in the dioceses together, and a broader objective of strengthening the bond between African Catholic communities through the creation of targeted social, health, and welfare programs that achieve set objectives.
