We are an addictive society. We tend to think only of drugs or alcohol or sex as addictions, but there are actually many more, including to being addicted to our own way of thinking. There is a need for our society, starting with the individuals in it, to become alert and aware of our biases—there are at least 15—and to our addictions.
Developed by laymen, 12 Step Spirituality is a powerful method of confronting our failings, bringing healing to both spirit and body. It is worth exploring.
