Join The Good Shepherd Parish for a special talk on St Francis of Assisi and his Marian Devotion with Fr Matthew Timonera OFM Cap, Capuchin Friars Australia Vocations Director. The talk will be followed by Mass for the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. All are invited to join The Good Shepherd Plumpton Parish for St Francis Week, celebrating the Solemnity of St Francis of Assisi, the parish’s patron Saint, during this special Jubilee Year of St Francis, commemorating the 800th anniversary of his death. From 3–10 October, all the faithful are welcome to encounter the enduring legacy of the “Poverello of Assisi” by walking in his footsteps — embracing simplicity, caring for the poor and creation, and becoming instruments of peace in our world. Proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV, this special Franciscan Jubilee Year offers the opportunity to receive a plenary indulgence during designated Franciscan celebrations and pilgrimages to places connected to St Francis, including The Good Shepherd parish during St Francis Week. Throughout this octave-long celebration, there will be many opportunities to receive Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, as well as to participate in the veneration of a first-class relic of St Francis of Assisi.
