This biblical study pilgrimage to Egypt, Cyprus and Turkey, from 29 December 2025 to 21 January 2026, will profoundly deepen one’s understanding of the Bible. In Egypt, the story of Moses and the Exodus event, key to Christian and Jewish faith, will be the focus. Visits to the pyramids, Valley of the Kings and Karnak and Luxor temples will expose pilgrims to the Egyptian understanding of death and the afterlife which influenced the Old Testament authors. In Cyprus, participants will reconnect to Luke’s story of Paul in the Acts of the Apostles and, the visit to the tomb of Barnabas, will highlight the role which he played with Paul in spreading the Gospel to this part of the world. Finally, in Turkey we will reflect on Paul and his letters and appreciate the theological contribution of the Cappadocian Fathers—Basil the Great (330-379), Gregory of Nyssa (335-395) and Gregory of Nazianzus (329-390)—to Christian theology. The study tour, open to all, is led by Rev Dr Michael Trainor, senior lecturer in biblical studies with the Australian Catholic University.
