SUMMARY:St Carlo Acutis Major Relic
DESCRIPTION:Coming to Australia & New Zealand June – October 2026\nSt Carlo’s major pilgrim relic is coming to New Zealand from 7 to 23 June and Australia from 25 June to 25 October 2026. Australia will be the 25th country to welcome St Carlo’s major relic\, his pericardium. \nThe pericardium\, the membrane that surrounds the heart\, is a sac filled with fluid that encloses the heart and the great vessels\, holding them in place and protecting the body’s most important organ. The relic\, therefore\, is of major importance physiologically. The pericardium also contains deep spiritual meaning. The heart is the body’s most important organ; it is also the seat of our sentiments and actions. In the heart is born and lives our relationship with the Lord: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart” (Dt 6\,5\, Mt 22\,37).

SUMMARY:The Aussie Camino Pilgrimage – VIC/SA
DESCRIPTION:Following in the Footsteps of Mary MacKillop\nWalking a Camino is a centuries-old tradition\, offering pilgrims a spiritual journey inspired by lives of fulfilment and service. The Aussie Camino follows in the footsteps of Mary MacKillop\, Australia’s first saint\, who dedicated her life to faith\, education\, and kindness. \nStarting in Portland\, where Mary MacKillop gained her early teaching experience\, the pilgrimage ends in Penola. Penola is where she co-founded the Sisters of St Joseph with Father Julian Tenison Woods. Reflecting on their humble beginnings\, Mary wrote in 1891: \n“Little did either of us then dream of what was to spring from so small a beginning.” \nPilgrims can visit significant sites such as the stable park\, the schoolhouse\, and St Joseph’s Church\, taking time for reflection and prayer. \nThe Path of the Pilgrimage\nFor the first few days\, the route follows the Great South West Walk (GSWW)\, a scenic 250-kilometre track established in 1981. It winds through stunning national parks\, including Lower Glenelg\, Cobboboonee\, Discovery Bay Coastal\, Mount Richmond\, and Cape Nelson State Park. \nAs the journey progresses\, the path continues along farm tracks\, goat trails\, minor roads\, and even abandoned railway lines\, offering a peaceful and reflective experience. \nThe Aussie Camino is a calm and rewarding pilgrimage for those seeking spiritual growth\, personal reflection\, and an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of an extraordinary woman. \n“Oh\, how I wish we would only remember that we are but travellers here.”– Mary MacKillop 17 November 1866 \nThinois listing has a number of departure dates  – Check the website https://getawaytrekking.com.au/tour/australia/the-aussie-camino-pilgrimage-vic-sa/

SUMMARY:2026 Queensland First Nations Catholic Education Conference
DESCRIPTION:Heart on Country\n12–14 August 2026 | Clifford Park Racecourse\, Toowoomba\n \nREGISTER HERE\nEducators from across Australia are warmly invited to the Queensland First Nations Catholic Education Conference – Heart on Country. This transformative three-day event will explore how culture\, faith and learning can be woven together to create inclusive\, empowering educational environments for First Nations students. \nA central theme of the conference is holistic education\, which recognises the interconnectedness of identity\, spirituality and academic growth. Through this lens\, educators will be equipped to nurture the emotional\, social and intellectual development of First Nations students\, honouring their unique stories and strengths. \nThe experience begins with a powerful cultural immersion on Day One at the beautiful Bunya Mountains – Booburrgan Ngmmunge (boo-barr-an ngummin)\, a sacred site for the Jarowair people. \nMeaning “mother’s breast\,” Booburrgan Ngmmunge is a place of deep cultural significance for First Nations communities across Southeast Queensland and beyond. Located 110 kilometres from Toowoomba\, this awe-inspiring destination is home to the world’s largest natural stand of Bunya trees and offers rich opportunities for reflection\, connection\, and learning. \nThe conference will continue over the next two days in the heart of Toowoomba featuring keynote speaker Noel Pearson\, a distinguished Australian lawyer and founder of the Cape York Partnership and Good to Great Schools Australia. Noel’s leadership and advocacy for educational equity will inspire and challenge us to think deeply about how we support all learners. \nStay tuned as we announce additional guest speakers and workshops to the conference agenda. \nTogether\, we can make a difference in the lives of First Nations students by fostering environments that celebrate and respect our rich cultural heritage. \nIf you are interested in sponsoring this conference\, please click here to find out more about your options to be part of this transformative event. \nFor enquiries\, please contact our Event Planner\, April at hello@fame-events.com.au.

SUMMARY:Biblical Explorations: The Prophets
DESCRIPTION:Short Course: 2 x 1.5 hrs. One of the largest sections of the Bible is the prophetic books. The books of the prophets are centred on the lives and teachings of prophets and their disciples. You might have heard about the prophets’ calls to social justice. However\, there’s more to their mission than this. What did the prophets say and why did they say it? And why did it end up in the Bible? These are just some of the questions we’ll be discussing in this subject.

SUMMARY:Reflection Mornings – Hazelbrook (Blue Mountains)
DESCRIPTION:“Jesus – Christ\, Yesterday\, Today and Tomorrow”\npresented by\nBr Barry Donaghue. cfc\, D.Min\nWhat do we understand by ‘Christ’? Why did God become one of us? It wasn’t to pay any debts; that notion\, held and even taught for a long time\, is beyond ridiculous. Paul tells us that Jesus was no avatar but fully human. So\, who was he? What did he learn? Did he leave a blueprint for our lives? What does it mean to be a disciple in our times?   All of these things are vital for being Christian in the 21\nst century so\, let’s take a couple of hours to properly explore these ideas. You won’t regret it and. you’ll take away plenty to pass further along.\nBarry Donaghue cfc has studied and taught in Australia\, Africa\, Nth America\, Asia & the Pacific Islands.   He has completed primary degrees in arts and teaching\, and graduate studies in education\, adult religious education\, theology and group dynamics\, and holds a doctor of ministry degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary in the spiritual formation of people in the groups in which they live and work.   He is the emeritus executive director of Spirituality Centres in Cedar Rapids\, Iowa\, and in Terre Haute\, Indiana. He is also a certified spiritual director and a labyrinth presenter. \nTea/Coffee provided.  Entry by donation\nNeed to make contact?\nEmail \nAn initiative of Catalyst for Renewal\nVenue: Hazelbrook (Blue Mountains)\, cnr Great Western Highway and Rosedale Avenue\, Hazelbrook\, NSW \nSource: Catalyst for Renewal — https://catalystforrenewal.org.au/event/hazelbrook-reflections-blue-mountains/
